| Splendor in the Rhône Valley |

Rhône Valley wines are a magnet for lovers of great wine. Understandably so. Seven vintages from 1998 to 2005 (excepting 2002) are excellent, creating a huge stockpile of superior examples. Inexplicably, prices of excellent-class Rhône wines are lower than for comparable quality wines from chic zones like California and Australia. The grapes are irresistibly delicious. Their flavors recall mouth-watering berry fruits with nuances of licorice, smoky grilled meat and minerals.
