Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape: King of the Southern Rhone

There is widespread agreement that Châteauneuf-du-Pape is the king of the Southern Rhône. If we further propose that Beaucastel is the king of Châteauneuf-du-Pape itself, many will agree but arguments would begin.

In our opinion other Châteauneuf-du-Pape producers have not been as consistent offering wine in the category of greatness as has the Perrin family's Beaucastel. Even the superb Vieux Telegraphe or Rayas are hard-pressed to have been so astounding in quality level evenly throughout the past quarter century. Read, taste and discuss.
